FATALITY AT TSHEPONG MINE

Johannesburg, Thursday, 19 July 2018. Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited
(“Harmony” and/or “the Company”) regrets to advise that one of its employees was
fatally injured in a fall of ground incident at its Tshepong mine in Welkom,
Free State this morning.

The Department of Mineral Resources has been informed and an investigation into
the accident is underway.


Management express their deepest condolences to the deceased employee’s family,
friends and colleagues.
