TRADING STATEMENT AND ASSETS UNDER MANAGEMENT

Shareholders are advised that Coronation’s total assets under management (“AuM”) as at 31
March 2019 are R586 billion. While total AuM remained flat compared to the figure reported
as at end-September 2018 (R587 billion), average AuM for the six months to end-March
2019 decreased by 8% in relation to average AuM for the prior comparable half-
year period. After taking into account the impact of the decrease in average AuM and net fee
margin; revenue and earnings per share for the six months ended 31 March 2019 declined
compared to that of the prior comparable period.

Accordingly, the board of directors of Coronation are satisfied that a reasonable degree of
certainty exists that earnings per share (“EPS”), headline earnings per share (“HEPS”) and
diluted headline earnings per share (“DHEPS”) for the half year ended 31 March 2019 are
expected to be down between 20% and 30% when compared to the EPS, HEPS and DHEPS
of 223.4 cents reported for the half year ended 31 March 2018. The EPS, HEPS and DHEPS
for the half year ended 31 March 2019 is therefore expected to be between 156.4 cents and
178.7 cents.

The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been reviewed and
reported on by Coronation’s external auditors. Coronation’s financial results for the half year
ended 31 March 2019 will be released on or about 21 May 2019.
