Public Interest Entities are now required to rotate their audit firms with effect from financial years commencing after 1 April 2023. The Murray & Roberts Audit Committee decided to early adopt IRBA’s Mandatory Audit Firm Rotation requirements and after following due process as set out in paragraph 3.84(g)(iii) of the JSE Listings Requirements (“LR”), recommended the appointment of PwC as the Company’s external auditor with Michal Kotzé as designated lead audit partner. The appointment of PwC as external auditor will be for the financial year ending 30 June 2020 and the current auditors, Deloitte, will complete the audit of the financial results for the financial year ending June 2019. PwC will be the appointed with effect from 28 August 2019, on which date the Company is expecting to release its financial results for the year to June 2019. Shareholders will be asked to approve the appointment of PwC as external auditors for Murray & Roberts at the Company’s 2019 Annual General Meeting, scheduled on 28 November 2019.
