Mr Jabu Moleketi, Chairman of Vodacom Group, thanked Michael for his valuable contribution to the Board over the past 10 years and wished much success in his future endeavours. Shareholders are further advised that Ms Leanne Wood (MA, MBA) has been appointed to the Board as a non executive director today, to replace Michael. Leanne joined Vodafone as Chief Human Resources Officer and member of the Vodafone Executive Committee on 1 April 2019. She is the former Chief People, Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer for Burberry Plc. Over the years she has held a number of senior executive positions including Group HR director for Diageo Plc and in strategy and finance for Allied Domecq, LEK Consulting and United Distillers. Leanne also serves as a non- executive director and member of the nomination, remuneration and audit committees of the Go-Ahead Group Plc. Mr Francesco Bianco who was an alternate to Michael, now becomes an alternate to Leanne. He also steps down as member of the Vodacom Group’s nomination and remuneration committees where Leanne replaces Francesco on these committees.
