APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

In terms of paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, shareholders are
advised that Mr Monwabisi Fandeso (“Monwabisi”) has been appointed to the Santam board as an
Independent Non-Executive Director with effect from 15 January 2020.

Monwabisi holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Master of Business Administration from the
University of Wales and the Wharton Business School at the University of Pennsylvania,
respectively. He also holds a CSEP from the Columbia Business School.

Monwabisi is currently a director of Tiger Brands Limited and Thebe Investment Corporation. He has
served as a director on a number of listed and unlisted companies. He also served as a director of
Santam from October 2011 to March 2017.

We look forward to Monwabisi’s contribution to Santam as an Independent Non-Executive Director
and as a member of the Company’s Audit and Risk Committees.
