TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of section 3.4 (b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements,
companies are required to publish a trading statement as soon as they are
reasonably certain that the financial results for the current reporting
period will be more than 20% different to that of the previous corresponding
period.
Shareholders are referred to the announcement released by the Company on SENS
on 4 November 2019 whereby it indicated its intention to change its year end
from 31 March to 31 December. It was furthermore announced on SENS on 4
December 2019 that shareholders had passed the requisite shareholder
resolutions allowing the Company to amend its memorandum of incorporation
accordingly. The first year end subject to the amended year end date is
therefore 31 December 2019 and the Company will be reporting its results for
the nine months ended 31 December 2019, with comparative results consisting
of the 12 months ended 31 March 2019, in due course. Shareholders are
therefore advised to take note of the disparity in reporting periods when
considering the Company’s forthcoming results.
Shareholders are hereby advised that a reasonable degree of certainty exists
that for the nine months ended 31 December 2019, the Company will report
basic earnings per share of between 2.36 and 0.89 US cents, being a decrease
of between 84% and 94% as compared to the prior comparative period basic
earnings per share of 14.76 US cents. Headline earnings per share is expected
to be between 3.13 and 1.57 US cents, being a decrease of between 80% and
90%, as compared to the prior comparative period headline earnings per share
of 15.65 US cents.
The above information has not been reviewed or reported on by the Company`s
auditors. The Company`s results are expected to be published on or about 21
February 2020.
