APPOINTMENT OF CLIVE BRADNEY THOMSON AS INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

In accordance with paragraph 3.59 (a) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, the board of directors
of ADvTECH (“Board”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Clive Bradney Thomson (“Clive”)
as an independent non-executive director of the Company with effect from 12 March 2021. Clive will
also serve as a member of the Group’s Audit and Risk Committee.

Clive is a Chartered Accountant (SA) with more than 20 years working experience in senior leadership
and executive roles. Clive served as the Chief Executive Officer of Barloworld Limited (“Barloworld”)
for a period of approximately ten years. During his tenure at Barloworld, Clive served as the chairman
of the divisional boards of Barloworld’s major operating subsidiaries and was responsible for leading
the Caterpillar equipment businesses in Southern Africa, Russia and Iberia.

He was also a non-executive director of Pretoria Portland Cement Company Limited (“PPC”) and a
member of the PPC audit committee for a period of approximately three years prior to its unbundling
from the Barloworld group.

Prior to joining Barloworld, Clive was a partner at Deloitte responsible for audit client services and also
served in the accounting technical advisory and education portfolios.

Clive is currently an independent non-executive director of Woolworths Holdings Limited and
Vodacom Group Limited and a non-executive director of Borusan Makina.

Commenting on the appointment, ADvTECH Chairman Chris Boulle said:
