VOLUNTARY ANNOUNCEMENT: CYBERATTACK INCIDENT

The Company informs shareholders and other stakeholders that
it is a victim of a targeted criminal ransomware attack on
its IT systems. Immediately on becoming aware of the
cyberattack on 15 December 2021, the Company
took all its systems offline to contain the attack. The
Company activated its business continuity plans to restore
the IT operational environment while utilising manual
processing systems and continue to function, albeit with
some delays in some administrative functions. Our operations
continued unaffected.
The extent to which sensitive data has been compromised is
yet to be determined as we are still in the process
of investigating the incident.
External cyber security experts and forensic teams have been
engaged to advise and supplement our internal teams and
capacity.

Basil Read Holdings will report the attack to the relevant
enforcement agencies.

Basil Read Holdings assures its stakeholders that it takes
any threat to its IT systems seriously and that the incident
is being thoroughly investigated.

Any material developments will be communicated.
