Harmony is deeply saddened to announce a loss of life at Moab Khotsong mine on 20
January 2026


Johannesburg, Tuesday, 20 January 2026. Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited
("Harmony" and/or "the Company") regrets to announce that an employee at Moab
Khotsong mine, near Orkney, tragically lost his life in a locomotive-related
incident this morning.


All relevant parties, including the employee's family members, have been informed.
An investigation is currently underway, led by the Department of Mineral and
Petroleum Resources (DMPR).


"The tragic loss of life is devastating, and we are saddened by this unfortunate
incident.   We extend our heartfelt condolences to the employee's family, friends,
and colleagues during this difficult time. Safety is our main priority, and we
remain steadfast in our commitment towards reaching our goal of zero loss of
life," said Beyers Nel, Chief Executive Officer.
