APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

This announcement is issued in terms of paragraph 6.71 of the JSE Equity Listings Requirements and
paragraph 6.42 of the JSE Debt and Specialist Securities Listings Requirements. Shareholders and
noteholders are advised that, in line with the Sanlam and Sanlam Life Boards' continued focus on
succession planning and Board refreshment, Mr Howard Walker has been appointed as an independent
non-executive director of Sanlam and Sanlam Life, with effect from 11 August 2026.

Mr Walker is an experienced actuary and financial services executive with extensive leadership,
consulting and non-executive director experience across the insurance, asset management, employee
benefits and healthcare sectors. He holds a B.Sc in Actuarial Science, is a Fellow of the Faculty of
Actuaries and a Fellow of the Financial Planning Institute. His career includes senior executive roles at
Alexander Forbes, including Managing Director of Alexander Forbes Financial Services South Africa
and Head of Group Strategy, as well as prior experience with Old Mutual and Jardine Insurance Brokers
in Hong Kong. Since 2009, he has acted as an independent consultant and non-executive director,
advising various companies on insurance transactions, strategy, product development, due diligence
and business transformation initiatives.

The Boards confirm that in compliance with paragraph 6.73 of the JSE Equity Listings Requirements, a
fit and proper assessment has been conducted and that the Boards are satisfied with the outcome of
the assessments. Sanlam and Sanlam Life further confirm that Mr Walker has affirmed his integrity in
terms of the information contained in the directors' declaration.

Mr Walker's appointment will further strengthen the Boards' collective skills, experience and
independence. The Boards welcome Mr Walker and looks forward to his contribution.
