APPOINTMENT OF DIRECTORS

In accordance with paragraph 3.59(a) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, the board
of directors of the Company (“the Board”) wishes to advise shareholders of the following
changes to the Board and the Hulisani board committees, which changes are effective
immediately:

Ms. Karabo Ngwanamela Kekana (“Karabo”) has been appointed as an independent
non-executive director of the Company, as well as a member of both the Audit and Risk and
Investment Committees, respectively.

Mrs. Thandiwe Godongwana (“Thandiwe”) has been appointed as an independent
non-executive director of the Company, as well as a member of both the Remuneration and
Human resources and Social and Ethics Committees, respectively.

Karabo’s qualifications include a MCom in International Accounting (CW) and a B.Com
Accounting Honours degree from the University of Johannesburg. Karabo is also a qualified
Chartered Accountant (SA). She has several years of accounting experience and currently
serves as a senior lecturer in accounting studies at the University of Johannesburg. Karabo
also serves as a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants
Accreditation team and as a senior reviewer of the JSE Limited Pro-active Monitoring team.

Thandiwe’s qualifications include bachelor degrees in Science and Education as well as
diplomas in Management and Education. She has over 26 years of experience in the human
resources and management sectors, including serving as an executive director of both the
Benefit Recovery Services (Pty) Ltd and Ilitha Consulting. Thandiwe currently serves on the
boards of several prominent organisations including, inter alia, the Premier Hotel (OR Tambo
International), the South African National Biodiversity Institute and the Mayibuye Transport
Corporation.

The Board welcomes Karabo and Thandiwe and looks forward to their contribution to the
Company.
