PASSING OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE COMPANY

In accordance with paragraph 3.59(b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, the board of
directors of the Company (“the Board”) regrets to advise shareholders that Professor
Mohammad Karaan (“Prof. Karaan”), who served as an independent non-executive director
and member of the Board’s remuneration and nomination committees, sadly passed away on
Wednesday, 13 January 2021.

Prof. Karaan had a passion for agriculture and was highly regarded in the agribusiness sector.
He was appointed to the Board on 6 April 2016 and made an invaluable contribution to the
Company. His passing is a huge loss to the South African agricultural sector and he will be
remembered as a remarkable individual and friend.

The Board, executive management and all staff of the Company extend our deepest
sympathies to Prof. Karaan’s family, friends and colleagues.
