BOARD AND BOARD COMMITTEE CHANGES
In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements,
and paragraph 6.39 of the JSE Limited Debt Listings Requirements,
shareholders and noteholders are advised that Mr Matthews Sello Moloko will
step down as a director and chair of the Boards of MMH and MML, following
the conclusion of the MMH Annual General Meeting on 25 November 2021. He will
also resign as chair of the Group’s Nominations committee, and member of the
Investments as well as the Remuneration committees. Mr Moloko’s resignation
follows his decision to join the board of another financial institution, and
is required to prevent any conflicts of interest.
The Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Peter Cooper as the
Interim Chair of the Boards of MMH and MML, and Interim Chair of the Group’s
Nominations Committee, with effect from 25 November 2021 and until the
appointment of a new Board Chair. The intention is to appoint a new Board
Chair as soon as is practically possible, and preferably within the next six
to twelve months. Mr Cooper is a qualified Chartered Accountant (SA) and a
seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in the financial services
industry. He joined the MMH Board in November 2015 and was subsequently
appointed to the MML Board in July 2020.
