ASCENDIS HEALTH ACHIEVES LEVEL 1 RATING: AVAILABILITY OF BROAD-BASED BLACK
ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT ANNUAL COMPLIANCE REPORT

Ascendis Health has achieved a verified level 1 broad-based black economic empowerment (B-BBEE)
rating for 2019, improving from level 5 in 2018.

The Company improved its overall B-BBEE score on the Department of Trade and Industry codes of
good practice generic scorecard from 76.1 points in 2018 to 90.6 points in 2019. The increase was
driven by an enhanced performance across the skills development, preferential procurement, supplier
development and socio-economic development pillars of the scorecard, while the company also
benefited from its participation in the YES youth employment programme.

In accordance with Appendix 1 to Section 11 of the JSE Listings Requirements, notice is hereby given
that the Company’s Annual Compliance Report, in terms of section 13G(2) of the Broad-Based Black
Economic Empowerment Act 53 of 2003 (read with the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment
