WESTCON SOUTHERN AFRICA BEE TRANSACTION
Datatec, the international Information and Communications Technology (ICT) company,
announces a change of the black economic empowerment (“BEE”) partner of its subsidiary
Westcon Southern Africa Holdings Proprietary Limited (“Westcon SA”).
MIC Investment Holdings Proprietary Limited (“the MIC”) has disposed of its 40% equity interest
in Westcon SA and Ascension Capital Partners Proprietary Limited (“Ascension”), a private equity
investor has acquired a 40% equity interest to become the new BEE partner of Westcon SA.
Westcon SA has maintained its level 1 BEE rating pursuant to this transaction.
Jens Montanana, Datatec's Chief Executive Officer, commented:
